The Lodge was opened on the Master Mason Degree at 7:30 P.M. by PWM Dewey Goering for the regular stated meeting.

THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA was presented at the Altar with all present reciting the pledge of allegiance.

THE FOLLOWING PAST MASTERS were present: Dewey Goering, Alan Frohberg, Keith Head, Anthony Kelson, Rod Meier of Shelby No 158.

THE FOLLOWING VISITORS were present: Travis Grimit of Newburg No. 104, Newburg, Oregon.

READING OF MINUTES: Minutes of last meeting were read by Br Aaron Pursell. A motion from Br Bob Chacon to approve the minutes was seconded by WBr Keith Head and passed by a vote of members present.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: None

READING OF BILLS: None

TREASURERS REPORT: WB Dewey Goering reported that current reconciliation shows a balance of $8272.54. The Christmas fund had a total of $500 which included a donation of $100 from the lodge making available balance of $7762.65. WBr Dewey reminded us that the first half of the temple rent as well as Grand Lodge per capita were due soon. WBr Dewey also informed the lodge that the $25,000 CD has matured as of December 19th, 2011 and we had 10 days to determine what action we will take. He reported he is still waiting on some paperwork for potential investments.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Apparel Committee reported that the logo had be secured at the printers at a cost of $95.00. Prices of items will depend on the amount we order. Please see Br Bill McGinn if you have questions or comments concerning the apparel. Currently the color chosen for the background is black. Br Bill reported that it was an additional 210 dollars to setup for the big logo (similar to the wool jackets). Price list is available from Br Bill. A motion was made by WBr Keith Head to reimburse the fee paid by Br Bill for $95.00 for the setup of the logo. Motion seconded by Br Bob Chacon and passed by vote of members present. A motion was made by Br Brian Lundquist to pay the $210 setup fee for the large jacket logo. Motion seconded by Br Bob Chacon and passed by the vote of members present.

RESOLUTIONS: Br Aaron Pursell made a motion to use an open ballot instead of closed ballot for By-Laws amendments. Motion was seconded by WBr. Anthony Kelson. All five by-laws amendments were passed. Secretary will update lodge By-Laws accordingly and ensure Grand Lodge is in receipt of them.

OLD BUSINESS:

Americanism night is coming up and WM Dennis is working on the list currently there are 52 tenured teachers this year. MWDGM Tom Duffy reports that the Christmas family has been chosen and the WM, SW and JW will be bringing them the food and gifts leading up to Christmas. WBr Alan Frohberg our District Three Grand Officer asked for a current list of candidates, which were provided on the spot for our Wbr.

NEW BUSINESS:

WBr Anthony informed the lodge that Consumer Credit Counseling gives a class on financial planning. Proposes a financial literacy class for men in our community, to build awareness of Masonry and help the men of the community understand responsible financial planning. The lodge would be responsible for paying the hourly wage of the instructor for the class.

WBr Anthony also informed the craft that he is offering a class on prosperity, which is open to only Master Masons. The fee is $10 payable to the lodge. The class will meet for 6 weeks on Monday from 6:30 to 8:00. The class is on how to make more money, increase your net worth and live in prosperity. Class starts January 9th, 2012 and will be held over Skype. Please register with the Secretary if you would like to attend class.

Per WM Dewey Goering the proposal for the Consumer Credit Counseling class will be tabled until next stated meeting to allow WM Dennis to decide.

Br Aaron Pursell reports the following Brothers are in arrears and are in danger of being Suspended for Non- Payment of Dues, per Grand Lodge any member who is in arrears more than one year must be suspended for non-payment. Brothers Rodney P****, James Michael P***** and Randall Todd S******** were read as being in arrears. WM Dewey Goering asked if any brother had any information regarding these brothers, no information was given. Secretary to contact WM Dennis to determine his will and pleasure as of December 31st, 2011 these brothers are required to be suspended.
 

EDUCATION: Br Harry Boughton presented an education piece on Making Good Men Better. It was from an excerpt from a book from the Knights Templer education plan and covered 5 good leadership traits. Another book recommended to read by the Brethren was a book titled, “The Art of Manliness”.

Appendant Bodies:

Scottish Rite: Election of officers was the 19th, next meeting is 4th Monday in January which is installation of officers.

York Rite: George Washington Convocation is coming up in February.

Grotto: Officer installation has taken place and the Grotto has purchased a sled for ice hockey for Eagle Mount.

Prophet Monarch Harry reports that all Grotto members need to bring their calendar/planner to the next meeting

because Grotto will be setting up dates for the year.

Eastern Star: Olive Chapter is having a meeting January 13th with official visit from the Worthy Grand Patron.

 

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: Gary Fishers from Cascade No. 34 suffered a massive heart attack, please keep

him and his family in your thoughts.

The Lodge was opened on the Master Mason Degree at 6:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting and degree work. With WM Dennis DeForest in the East, Brothers Jeremy Dewayne Wilson and Kris John Leo Cron were escorted in to the Lodge separately by the Senior Deacon and Stewards. WM Dennis DeForest gave the Obligation to the candidates at the Altar. B Bob Chacon then presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East. The second section of the degree proceeded with WB Dewey Goering in the East as King Solomon.  The Brothers then performed the Trestle Board scene with the candidates. The Charge was given by WB Dewey Goering. Questions and Answers were given by WM Dennis DeForest and B Bob Chacon. B Bill Daniels then concluded the degree work with a Slide Lecture presentation for the candidates.

WM Dennis DeForest then proceeded with the business meeting for the evening.

READING OF MINUTES: Minutes of last meeting were read by Br Aaron Pursell. B Marty Eberly made a motion accept the minutes, motion was seconded by B Brian Lundquist and passed by a vote of members present.

READING OF BILLS: Temple Board bill for Kitchen Rent for 20.00

TREASURERS REPORT: We had a reconciled balance of 6412.08 with a check for 40.00 still out for Herman’s Flowers. Looking at paying half the temple rent and we also have Grand Lodge per capita coming up soon. Large CD is coming up on the 19th and so far the Finance Committee is still looking at solutions at this time.

OLD BUSINESS: Americanism night is coming along. WM Dennis is working on the list still. B Brian Lundquist reports that the Christmas Family fund is coming along and the next meeting on December 20th, is when all the money will need to be turned in, if you haven’t contributed already please see B Brian by the 20th.

WB Dewey Goering made a motion that the Lodge donate $100 dollars to the Christmas fund, seconded by WB Roger Cathel and passed by vote of members present.

Proposed By-Laws amendments will be voted on at our regular Stated meeting on December 20th, 2011.

OBITUARIES: The Obituary for our Brother WB John Jones was read and a moment of silence observed for his many years of work in the craft. He will be truly missed, WB John passed to the Celestial Lodge on November 19th, 2011.

READING OF BILLS: Bill read were $70.00 Masonic Temple Association for Kitchen Rent and fees, $12.60 Grand Lodge of Montana for Dues Cards, $51.90 to JP Luther Co for Members and Visitors Register, $303.77 to JP Luther for Master Mason Aprons, $40.00 to Herman’s Flowers for WB Al Johnson’s Funeral. Receipts turned in $45.00 for Postage from Secretary and $9.89 from B Chris Sizemore for flowers for Harvest Dinner. A motion to pay the bills was presented by WB Alan Frohberg and seconded by B Brian Lundquist and passed by a vote of members present.

Masterbuilder 2.0 is progressing WB Roger reports..

Americanism night is coming up and WM Dennis will send out his email to tenured teachers to start collecting the names by November 15th. Thanksgiving will be held at the Masonic Temple on Thanksgiving Day at 3 PM. Please bring a side or dessert.

NEW BUSINESS: Reading of By-Laws Amendments proposed. All amendments will be emailed and will be available at our meetings. Vote to be held on each individual resolution December 20th, 2011. Ryan Mark Kohler gave his EA Proficiency. WB Alan Frohberg stated that Saturday November 19th was Cascade’s Harvest Dinner; MWGM William Alexander will be in attendance. WB Alan also wants everyone to know that MWGM Will Alexander does encourage lodges to open the lodge on the shorter opening charge. Grand Lodge this year will be in Billings, MT. There will be a silent auction this year that will benefit the George Washington Memorial, if any lodges have anything to donate please see Alan.

The Lodge was opened on the Entered Apprentice Degree at 6:30 P.M. by WM Dennis DeForest for the regular stated meeting and degree work. Mr. Ryan Mark Kohler, Michael Alan Schmidt, and Christopher Ryan Smith of Delta 128 were escorted into the Lodge by the Senior Deacon and Stewards. Br Bob Chacon and WM Dennis DeForest gave the obligation to the candidates at the Alter one at a time. WBr Roger Cathel presented the Lambskin Aprons to the Candidates at the Alter. Br Dan Dailey presented the working tools to the Candidates in the East. Br. Brian Lundquist gave the Charge to the Candidates in the East. WBr Al Schmidt and Br Orman Puckett gave the Questions and Answers to the Candidates. The degree was concluded with the slide lecture presented by Br. Chris Sizemore. WM Dennis DeForest then proceeded with the business for the evening.

READING OF BILLS: Held over until next meeting due to time constraints, Bill read were $70.00 Masonic Temple Association for Kitchen Rent and fees, $12.60 Grand Lodge of Montana for Dues Cards, $51.90 to JP Luther Co for Members and Visitors Register. Receipts turned in $45.00 for Postage from Secretary and $9.89 from B Chris Sizemore for flowers for Harvest Dinner.

TREASURERS REPORT: WB Dewey Goering reported that current reconciliation shows a balance of $3463 and we had a cost of $17 dollars for the Harvest Dinner.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

RESOLUTIONS:

WBr Dewey Goering presented a resolution R2012-02, a Constitutional Amendment adding $1 per member to help contribute to the George Washington Masonic Memorial. A Motion to accept and send to Grand Lodge was made by WBr Roger Cathel and seconded by Br Aaron Pursell, motion was passed by a vote of all present.

OLD BUSINESS:

WBr Roger Cathel brought up that there are still the older style wool jackets available. The Jackets are $125 and if interested please see him.

Americanism night is coming up and WM Dennis will send out his email to tenured teachers to start collecting the names by November 15th. WBr Dewey brought up our cases and possibly creating a committee on these display cases. Tabled until next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

Dues notices were available at the Secretary’s desk, please pick up if you would like them ahead of time. The November Euclid Trestleboard is available for pickup at our meetings, please see the Secretary, he also has the Euclid Directory.

INVESTIGATIONS: Investigation committee reports on Ryan Mark Kohler were received and all were bright. A ballot was taken with the outcome also bright in the East.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: None

READING OF BILLS: Receipts in the amount of $58.44 were turned in for postage and supplies and a $20.00 bill for Kitchen Rent. A motion to pay the bills was made by WBr. Al Schmidt and seconded by Br Bob Chacon. Warrants were drawn by the Treasurer.

TREASURERS REPORT: WB Dewey Goering reported that current reconciliation shows a balance of $3345.81. Monies were received: $20 from Bob Chacon for Mnemonics and Monitor, $5.00 for Br Rob Davis’ Dues from last year paid by Br Aaron Pursell, $20 from Br Mike Porter toward 2011 dues and $50.00 from Br Kenneth Sappington for his Lodge Assessment.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Br Aaron Pursell reported on behalf of the By-Laws Committee that a vote was needed to accept the current By-Laws. A vote was held on the By-Laws and received unanimous approval. By-Laws were sent to the Grand Secretary and are on file.

Br Bill McGinn reported on behalf of the Apparel Committee. He reported we needed to vote on which logo to use. A vote was held to approve the new logo for use which was unanimously approved. Br. Bill will take around the new logo and bring some samples and pricing information to future meetings.

A Constitutional Amendment was proposed by WBr Dewey Goering to change the voting at Grand Lodge to all Master Masons present. The justification being that all Master Masons in good standing should be allowed a vote or say in Grand Lodge. This legislation piece would also increase Grand Lodge attendance by allowing all Master Masons a say. A motion was made by WBr Roger Cathel to present the legislation to Grand Lodge and was seconded by Br. Aaron Pursell and passed by a vote of all members present.

OLD BUSINESS: WBr Roger Cathel brought up that there are still the older style wool jackets available. The Jackets are $125 and if interested please see him.

Americanism night is coming up and WM Dennis will send out his email to tenured teachers to start collecting the names by November 15th.

This Saturday is the Harvest Dinner; please RSVP to Secretary if you have not already done so.

WBr Alan Frohberg, Grand Pursuivant and District 3 Grand Lodge officer reminded everyone that this district meeting is October 29
th at 1:00 PM with a luncheon at 12:00 PM. The cost of the luncheon will be $7.00.

WBr Dewey reminded the members that Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2011 was also this Saturday, October 29th at 8 PM.

NEW BUSINESS: Br Ken Sappington was presented with a 50 year pin this week by RWDGM Tom Duffy and Br. Aaron Pursell at Tuesday Morning Coffee.

WBr Roger Cathel discussed Master Builder 2.0 and detailed what was required to complete it as well as how the point system works. He also discussed the Ritualist program and covered the details of what it takes to become a Ritualist please see him for a brochure.

EDUCATION: WBrs. Roger Cathel and Dewey Goering presented an educational piece of the Second Section of the EA Degree. They will be performing this at the next Stated meeting when we have our next EA Degree.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: Br. Brian is in pain and is taking it easy while they prepare to operate on his neck next week.

OBITUARIES: WBr Al Johnson passed to the Celestial Lodge October 8th, 2011. His obituary was read and a moment of silence was observed for WBr Al.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Br Bill McGinn of the Apparel Committee reports that they are looking for points of contact for acquiring Euclid Lodge No. 58 items. They also are looking to solidify which Euclid Lodge logo we intend to use, a vote will be held on the next Stated Meeting.

WB Dewey Goering of the Finance committee reported that the books are ready for audit and the committee is still looking for options for our CD that is due in December.

Br Aaron Pursell reports that the By-laws committee had sent post cards and the vote will be on October 18th for acceptance of the compiled By-Laws.

READING OF BILLS: We received an invoice for $94.50 from Grand Lodge of Montana for candidate and member supplies. Motion by Br Bob Chacon and seconded by Br Brian Lundquist to pay the bills, motion carried.

TREASURERS REPORT: WB Dewey Goering reported that the balance for September was 3323.25 and a $40.00 Check to Herman’s Flowers was still outstanding. Current Balance plus Dues and Degree fees and minus bills paid this evening is $3337.75.

OLD BUSINESS: WBrs Dewey Goering and Roger Cathel will be cooking for the Harvest Dinner on October 22nd, 2011 with post cards that will go out with an RSVP of October 17th. Please RSVP to the Secretary.

NEW BUSINESS: Bowl for Kids’ Sake is October 28th, 6:00 PM WB Dewey has the information needed by the Bowling Team to help raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Great Falls. We will need volunteers for Widows and PMs who need a ride to the Harvest Dinner.

READING OF BILLS: We were charged $25.95 for checks drawn against our checking account and we received a bill for $8.50 from Grand Lodge of Montana for Mnemonics for Br Bill Daniels. Br Bob Chacon made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Br Aaron Pursell, motion passed by vote of members present.

Warrant #4707 was drawn for $8.50 for GL of Montana, Warrant #4708 was drawn for $500 for “Lucky Strike” sponsorship for Bowl for Kids’ Sake.

TREASURERS REPORT: Treasurer reported that $3639.20 was reconciled with the bank statement as of meeting. Treasurer reported that Euclid paid for the cost of Blue Lodge supplies for all three lodges, consisting of new aprons and a sprig of acacia, total cost was $285.11, each lodge’s share should be $95. Overall the net income for the year was -$971.

OLD BUSINESS: Bowl for Kids’ Sake will be Oct. 29th, at 6 and 8 PM. WBr Dewey Goering made a motion to contribute $500 for a “Lucky Strike” sponsorship for the event, motion was seconded by Br. Aaron Pursell and passed by a vote of members present. The following brothers will make up the Euclid bowling team: Bill Austin, Bob Chacon, Dave Foscue, Dewey Goering, and Aaron Pursell. The names of brothers still owing 2011 dues was read at the meeting.

MasterBuilder 2.0: Meeting was held at 6 PM on Friday, September 23rd, 2011 with WM, SW, JW, SD and JD to go over the plans for this year’s MasterBuilder program. Report of meeting is due at next stated meeting.

OLD BUSINESS: The Masonic Temple Board advises they are continuing to make improvements in the facility, with chair seats in the 3rd floor Lodge room being reupholstered at the present time. Next year they plan to make further improvements in the basement and kitchen areas.

NEW BUSINESS: Our new Grand Lodge Officer, WB Alan Frohberg, advises he will be having a District Meeting, Saturday, October 29th, 1:00 PM at the Masonic Temple. One of the topics discussed will be how to receive Grand Lodge officers at Lodge meetings.

READING OF BILLS: None. A deposit of $245.00 was made August 9th, showing a balance of $6,543.27. We deposited a matured $5,000.00 CD into the checking account, with proceeds to be deposited with the Grand Lodge investment program. Payment of $3,200 rent owed the Temple for 2011 will be made in the fall.

READING OF PETITIONS: A petition was read from Mr. Adam Wade Rideaux for Degrees/Initiation into Euclid Lodge. The petition will be referred to the Investigating Committee with results at the next meeting.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS: The Investigating Committee report has been completed for Mr. Michael Alan Schmidt. He was approved for membership in Euclid Lodge

BALLOTING: A ballot was taken for Mr. Michael Alan Schmidt, being bright in the East he was approved for Degrees/Initation into Euclid Lodge. He will be notified by the Secretary.

NEW BUSINESS: The joint installation of Officers for the Great Falls Lodges will be at Saturday, August 20th in the first floor of the Masonic Temple, open to the public. The Rainbow Girls will be cooking breakfast at  9:00 AM in the basement dining room before the installation, with everyone welcome.

OBITUARIES: WB Charles F. Tesch passed to the Celestial Lodge July 21, 2011, Memorial services were held at Christ United Methodist Church in Great Falls, Monday, July 25th. Masonic services were included with a large contingent of Brothers in attendance. Private burial was held in Choteau Cemetery. Charley was a 50-year Life Member of Choteau Lodge No. 44 and affiliated with Euclid Lodge as a dual member in 2003. He was very active in many Masonic organizations and was well known around Montana and also Canada. He is survived by his wife Eleanor of Great Falls and brother Albert, Choteau Lodge No. 44.

With WM Dewey in the East, B Robert Ford Goering, Jr. and B Paul Richard Roy were escorted into the Lodge by SD Brian Lundquist and Scribes. The Obligation was given at the Altar by WM Dewey Goering, with the assistance of his Father, Brother Robert Goering, Sr. visiting from the State of Florida.  WB Roger Cathel presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East.

With WB Roger Cathel in the East acting as King  Solomon, the Trestleboard scene was performed by the Brothers. The Charge was given by WM Dewey Goering.

The Lecture began with Questions and Answers by Brothers Bill McGinn and Aaron Pursell.

Visiting was MWPGM David Prewett, who concluded the Degree work with a Lecture for the candidates on Masonry. MW Brother David uses a historic banner to beautifully illustrate this Lecture.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: We received a thank you card from Ryan Hart,Whittier Elementary School Principal for donations to the school. Also a very nice letter from student Devin Stinson, just graduated third grade, for the new bike from the Bikes for Books program.

WM Dewey Goering read the resolutions submitted for consideration at the upcoming Grand Lodge session.

We received dispensation from the Grand Lodge for an outdoor tyled meeting, July 2nd, at Harry Boughton’s Mothers farm near Raynesford, Montana. This was for the purpose of conferring the Master Mason Degree.

NEW BUSINESS: WB Roger Cathel and Miss Shannon Shipstead will be married, 4:00 PM, August 6th, first floor of the Masonic Temple. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge Hall in Black Eagle. Please RSVP Roger if you plan to attend the reception. Roger was WM of Euclid Lodge in 2003-2004.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: WB Charley Tesch is now in Benefis Skilled Nursing care facility. B Rodney Johnson is also now at the same facility as Charley. WB Al Johnson has gone home from Missouri River Manor care facility, where he was recovering from a fall in his yard.

The Lodge was opened on the Fellowcraft Degree  at 6:30 P.M. by WM Dewey Goering for a special meeting to confer the Fellowcraft Degree for five Entered Apprentices. This included four members of Euclid Lodge and courtesy work requested by Delta Lodge No. 128 for Brother Michael Alan Murieen.

The candidates were escorted into the Lodge in two groups by the Senior Deacon and Stewards. The first group included B Kris John Leo Kron, B Jeremy Dewayne Wilson and B Michael Alan Murieen. The second group included B Paul Richard Roy and B Robert Ford Goering, Jr.

WM Dewey Goering gave the Obligation to the candidatges at the Altar

B Chris Sizemore presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East.                                             

WB Alan Frohberg then assumed the WM location in the East for the remainder of the Degree

WB Roger Cathel gave the Lecture of the Winding Stairs to the candidates as a group.

WB Alan Frohberg gave the Letter “G: Lecture to the candidates in the East.

B Harry Boughton gave the Charge to the candidates in the East.

B Aaron Pursell and B Bill McGinn concluded degree with Lecture Questions and Answers.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: WB Albin Johnson is at Missouri River Manor care facility recuperating from a fall, with a pin placed in a broken bone in his neck. He advises he will be at the facility for about 20 days total, since his accident, Sunday, May 15th. He says the nurses dote on him and help him shave, since he will be wearing a neck collar until July 20th. He wishes everyone success at Grand Lodge, since this will the first one he has missed since he was a Junior Warden, over 50 years ago.

OLD BUSINESS: The Education and Americanism dinner was held last Wednesday, March 30th, with newly tenured public school teachers as our guests. Brother John Deyo and crew prepared a delicious dinner, with both chicken and tender beef on the menu. WM Dewey Goering gave a talk on the history of Masonry, with it’s support of public education. Student speakers from the High Schools, Catherine Gilligan and James Thomas, were also presented with monetary awards to help further their education.

NEW BUSINESS: WM Dewey Goering discussed the upcoming Grand Lodge Communication in Miles City, June 23rd thru 25th. Several of the Brothers stated they plan to attend and WM Dewey has booked some rooms.

Election of Officers for the 2010-2011 Lodge year will be held Tuesday, May 3rd at the regular stated meeting.

We have scheduled an Entered Apprentice Degree, 6:30 P.M., next stated meeting April 19th.

B Dan Schulz gave a talk on Masonry from the Grand Lodge of Minnesota.

BALLOTING: A ballot was taken for Mr. David Flint Richard, being bright in the East he was approved for Degrees/Initiation into Euclid Lodge. He will be notified by the Secretary.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: WB Walter Breuning has been in the Hospital, and is now back at his residence at the Rainbow. Walter is 114 years of age as the worlds oldest man and credit to the fraternity. We all wish Walter the best. B Jim Peretti is recuperating from cataract eye surgery.

OBITUARIES: 50-yr. member of Euclid Lodge, Larry Curtis Enloe passed to the celestial Lodge March 29, 2011. Memorial services were held Thursday, March 31st, at Saguaro Christian Church in Tucson, AZ.

Larry was born September 6, 1930 to Albert and Lorraine Enloe in Lewistown, Montana. He graduated from Great Falls High School and held a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for the Anaconda Co. until they ceased operations in 1980. Larry served with the Montana Air National Guard and retired with the rank of Major in 1969. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason November 4, 1952. Larry retired to Tucson, Arizona, where his wife Virginia resides. His brother Howie is master chef at the Scottish Rite Temple.

WM Dewey reports we made a large donation of used items to Easter Seals-Goodwill, which are very much appreciated for use and training by the local facility.

WB Al Schmidt reports the Scottish Rite dinner and pie auction was a big success with donations over $4,000 for the Childrens Language Center.

NEW BUSINESS: Highway Clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th. We meet at the Loy School parking lot on the Truck-bypass. We clean the highway from 10th Ave. S. to 38th St. N., along with the help of the Rainbow Girls.

OLD BUSINESS: Fourty three newly tenured Public School teachers have been contacted to attend the Education and Americanism Night Dinner as our guests, along with their spouses. The dinner is scheduled for 6:30 P.M., March 30th in the Temple dining room, also with student guest speakers from the High Schools.

B Chris Sizemore and B Bill McGinn are heading up the Bikes for Books program, sponsored by the Montana Grand Lodge. There are presently 16 public schools in the Great Falls area who have been contacted by the Great Falls Lodges to have students participate in the program. Thanks to WB Roger Cathel for his donation to help purchase bikes, for lucky students who have their names drawn at award ceremonies.

NEW BUSINESS: Master Mason dinner, 6:30 PM, Wednesday, March 2nd at “The Loft Restaurant”, 4810 2nd Avenue N. The Loft dinner menu has been E-mailed, however you will need to let Bob Chacon know if you wish to order a steak from the menu.

B Mark Widseth gave a talk on Masonic education.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS: Investigation Reports have been completed for Mr. Robert Ford Goering, Jr., Mr. Paul Richard Roy and Mr. Scott Abbot DeBrae. All were approved for membership in Euclid Lodge.

BALLOTING: Ballots were taken for the above three candidates, being bright in the East they were approved for Degrees/Initiation into Euclid Lodge. They will be notified by the Secretary.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: Thank you cards were read from a deserving family who received Christmas money and gifts amounting to over $800.00 from the Lodge. This was a single mother with two teenage children, with all thanking us for the generous support and listing their gifts each purchased. This has to be one of the most rewarding activities of the Lodge.

OLD BUSINESS:

RWSGW Tom Duffy advised he will be presenting a check from Euclid Masonic Lodge in ceremonies at Whittier Elementary School, 9:30 A.M. this Friday. WB James V. Duffy passed to the celestial lodge October 4, 2010, with a donation of $1,000 from his estate to buy books for the School Library.  WB Anthony P. Kelson III (WM 2000-01) also made a generous donation of $500 for a total of $1,500.00.

WB Roger Cathel advises we still have Euclid Lodge Jackets for sale at a bargain price of $125.00. They were hand sewn in Korea and are 1-large and 2-medium sizes. Also thanks to B Orman Puckett for his new jacket.

NEW BUSINESS: A Jurisprudence Resolution R-2011-01 was discussed for Amending the Code, at the next Grand Lodge Annual Communication. This will be submitted to the Grand Lodge Jurisprudence Committee.

OLD BUSINESS: There will be no dinner next month because of the Annual Feast of St Johns. WM Dewey asked the brethren to assist Delta Lodge in setting this up and WB Roger Cathel, B Bob Chacon and B Dave Foscue volunteered to assist with the dinner which will be held January 15th at noon. Hosted by Delta Lodge.

The following brothers were listed as in arrears for last year’s dues: (names omitted for publication on the web).

WM Dewey asked if any Brother happens to see one of the above Brothers to remind them.

WB Alan, The Temple Board has installed the new dishwasher and it is working. The Temple Board also requests that When Brothers leave they check to ensure the front door is locked, it has been found to be open on occasions so please check it.

The Christmas family fund was sitting at approximately $381 dollars and B Brian was going to get with MWSGW Tom Duffy the following day.

NEW BUSINESS: We have one more fundraising event. The CASA-CAN Golf Tournament will be coming up and we need to think about a team, possibly to compete against the Grotto team.

Cascade Lodge #34 presented their idea for the “Canstruction 2011” idea and is asking all the lodges for help. Help can be done via monetary support, building support or food donations. The actual build is February 18th, and they figured it will cost approximately $1200 in food to complete the project. Cascade currently has a promise of $600 from MWSGW Tom Duffy. For information concerning how you can help contact B Chris Sizemore.

WB Roger and B Brian seconded that we donate $300 to the project it was approved by all Master Masons present.

WB Brad expressed Cascade’s gratitude for the donation.

WB Alan presented an educational piece on the origination and background of riding the goat.

This Saturday, December 25th will be WB Roger Cathel’s annual Christmas Dinner. For more information please contact Roger.

Feasts of the St Johns will be Jan 15th at noon.

York Rite will have the George Washington Convocation February 18th and 19th.

WM Dewey Goering gave the Obligation to the candidates at the Altar. WB Roger Cathel then presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East. The second section of the degree proceeded with WB Al Schmidt in the East as King Solomon.  The Brothers then performed the Trestle Board scene with the candidates. The Charge was given by WM Dewey Goering.

Lecture Questions and Answers were given by WB Roger Cathel and B Dan Dailey. (Dan’s MM Proficiency). B Chris Sizemore then concluded the degree work with a Slide Lecture presentation for the candidates.   WM Dewey Goering then proceeded with the business meeting for the evening.

We will try to submit our Annual Report to Grand Lodge on ROLLS computer format this year, $29.85 reinstatement fee after Dec. 31st.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: We spoke with WB Frank F. Ghee, Jr. (PHA) who has been under the weather for a couple of weeks. We wish WB Frank a speedy recovery and hope he gets to feeling better.

OBITUARIES: WB James V. “Jim” Duffy’s memorial service will be this Saturday, Oct. 23, 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church. Our Brother Rev. John Lewis will officiate, with WB Bill Hunter doing Masonic Services.

WM Dewey Goering hosted the Annual Harvest Dinner in the basement dining room before the Lodge meeting. Bro. David Foscue prepared a delicious diner of Chicken Cordon Bleu and Smoked Beef Brisket, with the assistance of the Brothers. 50-year members, past masters and Lodge widows were our guests  MWSGW Tom Duffy honored our newest 50-year member Bro. Aaron R. Mans who was presented his Grand Lodge Plaque and Pin recently at his home in Great Falls, where he resides with his wife Ione.   WM Dewey’s wife Vicki hosted ladies from Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake. They presented a program for the ladies after the dinner.

OLD BUSINESS: The “Bowling for Kids Sake” 5 man team will begin the bowling season October 23rd.                

WB Al Johnson thanked  B John Deyo and his roofing crew for spending a weekend reshingling his house.

 

NEW BUSINESS: A motion to Amend the By-Laws for a dues increase was previously made for tonite.

The motion was approved to increase Euclid Lodge annual dues from $85.00 to $90.00 beginning in 2011.

This includes Temple rent remaining at $50.00 and dues increasing from $35.00 to $40.00.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS:. The Texas Grand Lodge has forwarded a “Certificate of Good Standing” for Br. Travis Ryan Conger, Valley-Hi Lodge No. 1407, San Antonio, TX. He was approved for Dual Membership.

The Investigation Committee has recommended Mr. Kris John Leo Cron and Mr. Jeremy Dewayne Wilson be accepted for Degrees/Initiation into Euclid Lodge.

BALLOTING: Being bright in the East, Mr. Kris John Leo Cron and Mr. Jeremy Dewayne Wilson, were approved to receive the Degrees in Masonry from Euclid Lodge. They will be notified by the Secretary.

OBITUARIES: WB James V. “Jim” Duffy died of complications from cancer Sunday, Oct. 3 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls. His memorial service is 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23 at the First United Methodist Church. Jim was born Feb. 18, 1935 in Billings, Mont. to James A. Duffy and Margaret (Babcock) Duffy. He was raised in Great Falls and married Anne L. Powell in 1953. Together they had five children and raised them just half a block from where Jim had grown up on the north side of Great Falls. He worked 28 years for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in Salt Lake City.  Jim sat in Lodge with 4 generations of his family, with son Tom the current MWSGW of Masons in Montana.

The Lodge was opened on the Fellowcraft Degree by WM Dewey Goering at 6:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting and degree work. Brothers Spencer Jacob Bentley, Mark Allen Binkley and William Joseph McGinn, Jr. were escorted into the Lodge by the Senior Deacon and Stewards. WM Dewey Goering gave the Obligation to the candidates at the Altar. B Chris Sizemore presented the Working Tools in the East. The  second  section of the degree proceeded with WB Alan Frohberg in the East. WB Roger Cathel gave the Lecture on the Middle Chamber of King Solomon’s Temple to the candidates. WB Alan Frohberg gave the Letter “G” Lecture. B Dan Dailey and B James Porter gave Questions and Answers to the candidates.        This completed the Degree work and WM Dewey Goering continued with the business meeting.

Br. Aaron R. Mans will be presented with his 50-yr. Certificate and Pin. Br. Aaron and his wife Ione reside in Great Falls in their home on the west side of town. Br.Aaron was raised in Euclid Lodge Sept. 20th, 1960 and is retired after 30 years working in the downtown Great Falls Post Office.

OLD BUSINESS: Installation of Officers for the Great Falls Lodges was held Saturday, August 14th on the first floor of the Masonic Temple at 1:00 P.M. Thomas M. Duffy, RW Senior Grand Warden officiated.

Thanks to B David Foscue for preparing lunch open to the public, for the Brothers and guests,

B Mark Widseth was installed as Euclid Lodge Tyler.  He was unable to attend the official ceremonies.

Thanks to Treasurer B Gene Harrison for his efforts the past several years. He will be moving with his family to Reno, Nevada, for a new job opportunity.

 

 NEW BUSINESS: The Finance Committee recommended a $5.00 increase in dues to cover expenses. Total dues, including Temple rent, would be increased to $90.00 a year starting in 2011 with approval by the membership.

We received a petition for Plural Membership from Brother Robert M. Hames, Life member of Livingston Lodge #32. This has been confirmed by the Montana Grand Lodge.

BALLOTING: B. Robert M. Hames was elected to become a member of Euclid Lodge. Brother Bob was in attendance tonight and was congratulated by Brothers. He is also active in The Scottish Rite & Bannack Lodge #l.

The second section of the degree proceeded with WB Al Schmidt in the East as King Solomon. The Brothers then performed the Trestle Board scene with the candidates. The Charge was given by B Dewey Goering. Lecture Questions and Answers were given by B Brian Lundquist and B Aaron Pursell (Aaron’s MM Prof.). B Chris Sizemore then concluded the Degree work with a Slide Lecture presentation for the candidates.

OLD BUSINESS: The Bikes for Books program sponsored the Montana Grand Lodge, was very successful again this past year. The Brothers worked very hard on the program, with at least 12 public Elementary Schools contacted and 33 bikes awarded to the students.

WM Shane Kohler was presented the Master Builders Award, which was given to Euclid Lodge at the 144th Annual Communication in Missoula, with all items completed for the second time in state awards history.

NEW BUSINESS: We received the Grand Lodge Summary of the 144th Annual Communication. The resolution submitted by Euclid Lodge – Amending Section 620 to add Treasurers to the list of those elected officers entitled to vote was approved/Holdover to 145th Annual Communication.

Also the Grand Lodge Per-Capita & Reinstatement Fee was increased to $29.85 for 2010-2011 (was $27.85).

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: A letter was read from MWGM Thomas L. Lund in response to a recent incident and resulting inquiry regarding possessing weapons in a Lodge. His response is found in our ritual (the Vigilante Days and Ways). His decision as Grand Master is that the carrying of weapons into a Montana Lodge is not allowed.

OLD BUSINESS: Proxy cards are being given to two of the Brothers attending the Grand Lodge communication in Missoula this month, which will allow them to vote in place of Officers not attending.

B John Deyo reports the Temple board has been working in the basement and needs a dishwasher in the kitchen.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Senior Steward Rob Smith and family will be moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico in July, where his wife will be working as a surgical nurse. Brother Rob has been great in the Lodge, helping in the kitchen and with his Steward duties. Grandpa Bill Austin is a Dual Member of Euclid Lodge. He and Kathy will now have to visit New Mexico to see the Grandkids.

B Tad Kimmet will be getting hitched Saturday, July 31st at Holy Spirit Church, with reception at the Elks Club. Lets give our new brother and bride a big send off. (drive carefully, probably lots of police officers in attendance).

The Lodge was opened on the Entered Apprentice Degree at 6:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting and degree work. With B Dennis Deforest in the East, candidates Mr. Kevin Lee Akers, Spencer Jacob Bentley and Mark Allen Binkley were escorted into the Lodge by the Senior Deacon and Stewards.

B Dennis Deforest gave the Obligation to the candidates individually at the Altar.

B Harry Boughton and WB Roger Cathel presented Lambskin Aprons to the candidates at the Altar.

 

With WM Shane Kohler now in the East, B Dan Dailey presented the Working Tools to the candidates.

B Brian Lundquist then gave the Charge to the candidates in the East.

B Brian Lundquist and B Dennis Deforest presented Questions and Answers for the candidates.

The Degree concluded with a Slide Lecture presentation for the candidates by B Chris Sizemore.

WM Shane Kohler then continued with the business meeting for the evening.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: We were reminded by Grand Lodge to comply with IRS requirements to keep our 501 c 10 nonprofit status. This requires filing IRS form 990N and notifying the Grand Lodge.

OLD BUSINESS: B Chris Sizemore advises the “Bikes for Books” program will be completed soon, with bikes being awarded to the lucky students prior to the end of the Elementary Public School year.

B Dewey Goering advises we have completed requirements for the “Master Builder Award” which will be presented to qualifying Lodges at the upcoming Annual Communication in Missoula.

NEW BUSINESS: Installation of Officers: The Grand Master advises that Saturday August 14, 2010 will be the date for the Great Falls Lodges installation of officers for the 2010/2011 Masonic Year. A Lunch will be served at, noon, with the installation on the 1st floor at 1:00 pm.  This is an open installation with the public invited.

READING OF BILLS: The bills will be paid over the summer by previous resolution (We will list them later).

READING OF PETITIONS: A petition was read for Mr. William Joseph McGinn, Jr. for Degrees/Initiation into Euclid Lodge. The request will be referred to the Investigating Committee, with results at the next meeting.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: We were very pleased to have WB Roger Cathel attending Lodge tonight after tests and hospital care for a minor stroke. Roger advises he is now feeling better and will be recuperating for a while.

We wish Roger the very best for all he does for the Lodge, as Secretary of York Rite, reestablishing Hassan Grotto in Great Falls, and cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at the Lodge.

OLD BUSINESS: B Dennis Deforest reported on the Education and Americanism dinner held Monday, March 29th.  12 of 32 newly tenured teachers invited were able to attend, along with their guests. The student speaker from the Great Falls High School was awarded a $250.00 scholarship. The dinner speaker was Dr. Darrell G. Beauchamp, CMR Museum Executive Director. He is an internationally recognized speaker on the advantages of public education in the United States.

NEW BUSINESS: The highway cleanup in conjunction with The Rainbow Girls, is currently planned for Saturday, May 22nd. The area covered by both groups is the Truck-bypass from 10th Ave. S. to 38th St. N. We usually meet at the Loy Elementary School parking lot about 9:00 AM with signs, orange vests and bags provided.

An audit of the membership on the ROLLS program now calculates our 2009 Lodge membership as 129 in lieu of 127 as shown on the report (We owe an additional $55.70 per-capita.)

OLD BUSINESS: The Bikes for Books is continuing to go well, with another donation from a Brother, with total donations enough to now cover expenses, along with $750.00 from Grand Lodge. B Chris Sizemore reports 10 Elementary Schools are in the program with Euclid Lodge at the present time.

WB Roger Cathel reported building improvements on the first floor & windows in the east side 3rd floor.

NEW BUSINESS: WB Roger Cathel reports York Rite will meet Friday and Saturday, March 26th and 27th at the Masonic Temple for degree work. This will include Council No. 4 and Black Eagle Commandery No. 8.

Lodge discussions included protocol for MWGM Thomas L. Lund’s visit at our next meeting, Tuesday, April 6th.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: WB Chester Rogers has been in the hospital for some surgery and is now back home. We hope WB Chester is back in his home workshop making clocks and plaques very soon.

 

OBITUARIES: WB William G. Sigler passed away unexpectedly at his home in Great Falls today, of natural causes. Bill was a Past Master of the Fairfield Lodge (since closed) and was a current Life Member of Cascade #34 and Euclid #58 in Great Falls. Bill was very generous of his time and donations to Masonic organizations. He entered data for both the LODGEICAL and ROLLS programs for the Great Falls Lodges and was the current TRS/INST Cascade #34.

No services were held at his request.

B John Deyo reported we will not be doing fingerprinting at the Fairgrounds – Family Connections has a new program they are working on this year, instead of the Children’s Activity Fair.

NEW BUSINESS: WB Al Schmidt advised the Scottish Rite Temple will delay their Annual reunion until fall this year. Al mentioned they plan to practice some new Degree work for interested Brothers.

WB Roger Cathel reports York Rite will meet Friday and Saturday, March 26th and 27th at the Masonic Temple for degree work. This will include Council No. 4 and Black Eagle Commandery No. 8 Bodies.

We received the distribution check from Grand Lodge for Paid Life Memberships (PLM) for 2009- $635.92. We currently have 23 paid life memberships in the amount of $13, 705.00.

Investment Fund Market Value is $1,044,106.45 paying 4.42% interest as of 12/31/2009.

The Education & Americanism night dinner is Monday, March 29th at 6:30 PM, $500 budgeted for scholarships.

OBITUARIES: William Preston, Cascade Lodge #34 passed away recently. Memorial services were held in Great Falls for Bill, who was over 90 years of age and a long time Mason.

 The Lodge was opened on the Entered Apprentice Degree by WM Shane Kohler at 6:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting and Degree Work. The meeting proceeded with conferral of the Entered Apprentice Degree for

Mr. Daniel Everett Dailey. With B Dennis Deforest in the East, the candidate was escorted into the Lodge by the Senior Deacon and   Stewards.

B Denis Deforest gave the Obligation to the candidate at the Altar.

WB Roger Cathel also presented the Lambskin Apron to the candidate at the Altar.

B Bob Chacon then presented the Working Tools to the candidate in the East.

B Brian Lundqist gave the Charge to the candidate in the East

WB Roger Cathel and WB Alan frohberg gave the Lecture Questions and Answers to the candidate.

OLD BUSINESS: The Bikes for Books is continuing to go well, with another donation from a Brother and a $300.00 donation from the York Rite Lodge in Great Falls. We are planning to open an account for the Brothers to access the funds when taking the Bike winners to a local store for their awards.

B Dewey Goering reports the recent dinner at the Golden Corral was well attended with 36 brothers and guests.

B John Deyo reported on the Education and Americanism dinner, Monday March 29th, with 6 or 8 servers needed.

NEW BUSINESS: The Lorraine Enloe estate has made a donation to the Masonic Temple Association. Lorraine was 102 years old when she passed away last July. She and her husband, Brother Albert Enloe were custodians and lived in an apartment at the Masonic Temple at one time for 17 years. Brother Albert passed away in 1987. Son Howie is super chef at the Scottish Rite Temple and son Larry is a 50-year Life Member, retired living in Tucson, Arizona.

The Feast of Holy Saints John was celebrated with a noon Table Lodge hosted by WM Shane Kohler of Euclid Lodge, and well attended by the Great Falls Lodges. Thanks again to Bro. John Deyo for an excellent luncheon.

The Education and Americanism dinner is still scheduled for Monday, March 29th at 6:30 PM. B Dennis Deforest has invited 37 newly tenured teachers and spouses to attend as our guests, along with student speakers.

 

NEW BUSINESS: B Mike Walker, JW Cascade #34 is doing a beautiful job refinishing the Warden’s stations in the Lodge room. He has completed a marble inlay on the JW station, which will be a wonderful addition.

WB Roger Cathel has drafted a Resolution to submit to the Montana Grand Lodge for consideration at the Annual Communication in Missoula this summer. The resolution would give Lodge Treasurers a vote at these meetings, and was approved for submission to the Grand Lodge by a vote of the members present.

WM Shane Kohler announced he is planning to take new Master Mason, Orman Puckett to the Grand Lodge Communication in Missoula as his guest. Congratulations Orman, we are sure you will be very interested.

READING OF BILLS: Payment of bills was delayed until the next meeting.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS: Petitions for Mr.’s Kevin Lee Akers, Spence Jacob Bentley and Daniel Everett Dailey were approved by the investigating committees for Degrees/Initiation into Euclid Lodge.

BALLOTING: Being bright in the East, the above gentlemen were approved to receive the Degrees in Masonry from Euclid Lodge. They will be notified by the Secretary.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: It is good to see WB Bill Rogers return to Lodge meetings and his Scottish Rite kitchen duties after open heart surgery. Bill also actively participates in the Marine Corps League in Great Falls.

The Lodge was opened on the Fellowcraft Degree by WM Shane Kohler at 7:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting and degree work. With B Dewey Goering in the East, the Brothers were escorted into the Lodge in two groups by the Senior Deacon and Scribes. The first group was B Robert Stephen Charlton, B Zachary John Schmitt and B Scott Patrick Western. The second group was B Dow Douglas Fairbanks and B Robert Dean Wilson. The Obligation was given to both groups at the Altar by B Dewey Goering.

B Chris Sizemore then presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East.

The second section of the degree proceeded with WB Tom Duffy in the East.

WB Roger Cathel gave the Lecture on the Middle Chamber of King Solomon’s Temple to the Candidates.

WB Tom Duffy gave the Letter “G” Lecture and B Harry Boughton gave the Charge.

With WM Shane Kohler now in the East, Questions and Answers were given to the candidates by B James Porter and B Orman Puckett. WM Shane encouraged candidates to complete their proficiencies and degrees.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: We received an invitation from Helen C. Roberts Chapter No. 71, Order of the Eastern Star to attend an informational meeting Friday, February 19th, 7:30 PM  at the Masonic Temple. The meeting will be open to the public, with information on requirements for membership of wives, daughters, widows and sisters of Master Masons in good standing. They go on to list 18 different categories of Ladies that are eligible. Rainbow Girls and Jobs Daughters may join OES having attained 18 years of age.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

The Bikes for Books is going well with 12 elementary schools contacted to participate in the program at the present time.  We hope to be able to award at least 24 bikes to students in the reading program. The York Rite Temple has donated $300.00 to the program, where costs could reach up to $100.00 for each bike.

NEW BUSINESS:

The Brothers report WB Albin Johnson is fine and was at York Rite last Thursday evening.

B John Deyo went out and plowed some snow for Worshipful Brother Al J., who lives a few miles out of town. B John was also able to get some sand to spread around the ice rink, our rear parking lot.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: We received a very nice thank you letter from the (name omitted for reasons of courtesy)  family for help from Euclid Lodge over the Holidays. WB Tom Duffy headed up this effort with cash donations from the Brothers, and assistance from several local organizations including donations on utility statements. This really helped out a Great Falls family with three children, where Mr. (name omitted for reasons of courtesy) was laid off from work in October, 2008.

WB John Jones family sent a thank you card for flowers sent by the Lodge to Marilyn’s recent funeral services.

OLD BUSINESS: Several of the Brothers attended installation ceremonies at 12:00 noon in the Civic Center for elected candidates from last November. B Chris Sizemore, Neighborhood Council #4 representative.

WB Roger Cathel reports a very nice Christmas dinner at the Temple with over 40 in attendance.

NEW BUSINESS: Masonic Education night with presentations by appendant bodies. First let me apologize to ladies who we sent invitations and weren’t allowed to visit a tyled Lodge. We should have given this much more thought.

Scottish Rite- Robert Kampfer, History: Jack Waterfield, Child Language Center; Leonard Seymour & Robert Hanes.

York Rite – Alan Frohberg made a power-point slide presentation of the various York Rite bodies and history.

Shrine – John Jones noted their installation ceremonies were last night, with most expenses for travel to hospitals.

Grotto – Dan Schulz explained their charities and noted this is a fun organization for Masons.

Eastern Star – With the absence of OES ladies noted, John Deyo informed us about the organization.

OLD BUSINESS: WB Anthony Kelson discussed expenses for the Euclid Lodge website. He suggested a $10.00 fee for advertising on the site for any interested Brothers. Also the Lodge voted to purchase a pre-paid card for expenses of running the site, which runs over $100.00 per year.

NEW BUSINESS: An invitation to MWGM Thomas L. Lund for a visit in April, with availability to be checked.

B Chris Sizemore will be sworn in at the City Hall Community Room, 12.00 noon, Jan. 4, 2010.

He was elected as a neighborhood council representative at the city election last fall.

A dinner is planned 6:30 PM, Monday, February 8th at the Golden Corral. Master Masons who were raised in the past five years, some who may not be necessarily active in the Lodge, are invited with their ladies.

 The Lodge was opened on the Entered Apprentice Degree by WM Shane Kohler at 7:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting.

THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA was presented at the Altar with all present reciting the pledge of allegiance.

THE FOLLOWING PAST MASTERS were present: Alan Frohberg, Al Schmidt, John Jones and Bill Sigler. Visitors for the evening were Jeff LaRock, Sherburne Lodge #95, Elk River, MN and Chris Sorenson, Ashlar Lodge #29, Billings, MT.

READING OF MINUTES: Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read on motion of B Dewy Goering, seconded by B Dennis Deforest and passed by vote of the members present.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS: None.

OLD BUSINESS: B Chris Sizemore advised he has sign up sheets for Brothers interested sponsoring or helping   with the “Bikes for Books” program next year. We had a very good program last year for a number of schools.

B Dewey Goering advised the Master Builder program is going very well with most requirements finished.

NEW BUSINESS:WB Roger Cathel will be cooking free Christmas dinner at the temple- please RSVP to Roger. Roger will provide the turkey and fixings, you may assist with a side dish if you wish.

B Dan Schulz gave an informative program on Lodge finances and budgeting. He advises Euclid Lodge is going along at about the same pace for several years now, with no major current problems with finances.

Masonic charities were discussed, with building & charity items included on the new dues forms for consideration.

READING OF BILLS: It was moved by B Dewey Goering, seconded by B Dennis Deforest and passed by vote of the members present to pay the bills as follows:

Warrant No. 4634 – Masonic Temple Assn., kitchen fees October $110.00 (Harvest dinner $100 pro-rated item).

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: None.

OBITUARIES: WB Archie J. Emry passed away November 17, 2009 at a local care facility in Great Falls. Archie was born September 22, 1915 in Brighton, Iowa. He served in the US Army in World War II and Korea, retiring as a master sergeant in 1961 at Fort Knox, KY. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1976. Worshipful brother Archie was raised in Euclid Lodge September 15, 1970 and served as Worshipful Master in 1977. He was active in several Masonic organizations including Jobs Daughters, York Rite and Al Bedoo Shrine Temple.   He married his wife Grace in 1955 while stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. His wife passed away March, 2009.  He was a member and Deacon of Christ Church on the Hill. A private family service will take place at a later date.

 The Lodge was opened on the Master Mason Degree by WM Shane Kohler at 6:30 P.M. for the regular stated meeting and Degree work. The meeting proceeded with conferral of the Master Mason Degree for B James Michael Porter and B Orman Layton Puckett. The candidates were escorted into the Lodge by the Senior Deacon and Steward. WM Shane Kohler gave the Obligation  to the candidates at the Altar.  WB Roger Cathel then presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East.

The second section of the Degree proceeded with WB Al Schmidt in the East as King Solomon.

The Brothers then performed the Trestle Board Scene with the candidates. B Dewey Goering gave the Charge to the candidates in the East. WB Roger Cathel and B Harry Boughton gave the Lecture Questions and Answers. WB Chester Rogers completed the Degree work with a Lecture on Geometry.

 

WM Shane Kohler then proceeded with the business meeting for the evening.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: WB Bill Rogers is recuperating after by-pass surgery at Benefis Hospital following a recent heart attack. We are thankful WB Bill is on the mend and will be going home soon and may resume his duties with the Marine Corp. League and Scottish Rite Temple in Great Falls.

OBITUARIES: WB John Jones wife Marilyn passed away November 15th at Peace Hospice in Great Falls after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Helen C. Roberts OES Chapter #71 in Great Falls. Her memorial service will be this Thursday at the Church of The Incarnation in Great Falls where she was a member.

The meeting proceeded with conferral of the Fellowcraft Degree for B Thadeus “Tad” Kimmet and B Orman Layton Puckett. The candidates were escorted into the Lodge by the Senior Deacon and Stewards. B Dewey Goering gave the Obligation  to the candidates at the Altar.  B Chris Sizemore then presented the Working Tools to the candidates in the East.

WB Roger Cathel gave the Stair Lecture on the Middle Chamber of King Solomons Temple.

WB Alan Frohberg gave the Letter “G” Lecture and WB Roger Cathel gave the Charge.

WB Roger Cathel and B Dave Foscue gave Questions and Answers, completing degree work.
